Learning lessons from the Titan submersible disaster

We are looking to recruit 4 interns to bring together knowledge about best practices on key topic areas relating to the Titan submersible disaster. You will work with subject experts at the University of Southampton and carry out an in depth literature review in one of the following four topic areas:

- Composite materials in high pressure environments
- Ocean acoustic and localisation of underwater objects and sound sources
- Submersible safety systems and deep-sea search, rescue and recovery operations
- Legal considerations surrounding submersible operation in different regions of the ocean
The aim is to produce a report that brings together knowledge in these topic areas and capture key lessons and helps the marine community learn from the incident. In your application, please indicate the topic areas that best fit your expertise and interests.
